Special Education Needs and Equality

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School.

Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School is a fully inclusive school that ensures that all pupils achieve their personal, social, emotional and academic potential in all areas of the curriculum (regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, sexual identity, physical ability or educational needs). All pupils at the school are valued and we work hard to ensure that their confidence and belief in themselves is developed through different aspects of school life. This school's SEND Information Report (see below) is a guide to how Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School will address the needs of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Disabilities. It has been written to help parents/carers understand how we will support all our children, including those with SEN and disabilities, to make the best possible progress in school.  The information report is updated annually.  It should be read in conjunction with our Inclusion Policy and the local offer from Brent (which are also found below).  Should you have any questions about what we can offer SEND children within the school or about our policy or if  you would like to discuss your child's needs in more detail please contact your child's teacher or our SENCO Mrs Hart who can be contacted via the school office.

SEN Parents Drop In Event

Thanks to all the Junior and Infant School parents and carers who were able to attend our SEN drop in event on Friday 3rd November.  It was great to see so many people and I am sorry I didn't get a chance to chat to everyone.  It was so busy I completely forgot to take any photos of the displays before we had to pack everything away.

The feedback was  very positive and I am hoping to hold a similar event next year with more chance for people to chat to each other and any outside professionals.  I will also focus on more specific ways to help your child (in particular the older children) as we ran out of time before we could get on to it this time.

Thanks again and look forward to seeing all of you again soon.
