In preparation for First Reconciliation, the children begin to recognise their essential goodness and rejoice in it. They can be at times caring, kind, helpful, honest. They begin to appreciate their interrelatedness and become aware of their failures. They begin to see the need to say sorry for times when they have hurt others. We help them to reflect on the times when they have become disconnected from their true selves, and from the goodness around them and from God who loves us despite our failings.
