All Saints Day

6K lead a fantastic assembly to mark All Saints Day. The children, staff and parents were greeted into the hall by a child in 6K playing 'When The Saints Go Marching In' on the piano and we learnt about lots of different saints throughout the assembly. Please see below for information discussed and pictures from the assembly. A big thank you to Miss Kiernan and 6K for such a lovely assembly.

All Saints Day Prayer

Let us pray together to God, who loves and cares for each one of us:

God of life, we give thanks for all the holy men and women who have lived throughout the world.

Help us to live as you would like us to by showing love to all, bringing peace and always trying to do what is right.

Saint Josephine Bakhita, pray for us.

Saint St Thérèse of Lisieux, pray for us.

Saint Peter Yu Tae-Chol, pray for us.

Saint Andrew Kim Taegon, pray for us.

Saint Mary McKillop, pray for us.

Saint Oscar Romero, pray for us.

Blessed Carlo Acutis, pray for us.

All holy men and women, pray for us.

In the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Our House Saints

Here at Our Lady of Grace Junior School, we work really hard to demonstrate how we live our mission: love opportunity, growth, always through Christ. This is exemplified for us through the lives of saints. Therefore we have chosen to organise our school in a way that affiliates each pupil with a special saint.

All pupils are in House Teams and can earn House Points for working and behaving to the best of our ability. These points are in a running total on the website's home page. Rewards for the greatest number of points are given at the end of each term. For some school events, such as Sports Day, we compete in our House Teams.

Our House Saints represent the diversity in our school community and are linked to our Parish. Our House Saints are St. Mary, St. Andrew, St. Cecilia, St Bernadette and St. Martin of Porres.

Our Year 6 children have created beautiful portraits of these special saints using different artistic mediums to create a fantastic display for the front entrance of the school. Well done Year 6 for these beautiful pieces of art!
