Transition to Our Lady of Grace Junior School

7th July 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

As you know, your child has been offered a place at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Junior School to join us in Year 3 in September and we are looking forward to welcoming you and your child into our school community.

Unfortunately, due to the current situation with COVID 19 and the recent surge of local cases, we feel that it is not currently safe enough to invite you into school for a face to face introductory transfer meeting as we normally would. As a result, we have created a transition page on our school website which you will find here: – Parents –Transition to Our Lady of Grace Jnr School. We are also including a transition booklet with this letter for your children to compliment the visit they made to the school this term.

The website, and booklet, include much of the information that you and your child will need to know about starting with us in September.  We are aware that there is a lot of information to read but it is really important that you do read it all to help everyone have a smooth transition.  As you will see from our term dates, the autumn term begins for the children on the 2nd September. Please bring your children to the main school entrance (opposite the church) at 9.15am on the first day.  As you will read, the children from Y2 St Catherine will become Y3P, to be taught by Miss Power and those from Y2 St Vincent will become Y3M, to be taught by Miss McCormick.

This year, we are collecting all the admission information that we require digitally.  This means that a company called Operoo will be emailing you to the email that you provided our school office staff. In the next few days, Operoo will provide you with a user-name and password which you can use with their app to enter all the information we need.  Please take the time to complete all the information carefully and submit it to us by July 16th.  These forms can be translated into different languages, using Operoo, which should help people who are not able to read English.

Once you have read all the information, if you have any further queries, you can contact us via the email or by ringing our school office on (0208) 450 6002. Please note that the information we have provided about the school may be subject to any revised COVID-19 restrictions for school.

Yours sincerely,

Steve McGrath

For the Children

We have given the children who are joining us a transition booklet. In case you have not received it, you can view it below.

We have also  made a video for the children that are joining us in Year 2 to watch to help them with the transition. This includes greetings from their teachers and other adults and photo of video of our school.

Please watch it with your child as it includes helpful information for parents too.

The video can be watched by clicking the link below:
